Wet days are adventure days

I woke up to cloudy skies and drizzle. Perfect day for trail running! While most are indoors at the first sign of wetness, I look forward to the adventure afoot. Being my first damp day in my sandals when last week it reached mid 90's. The mud didn't clump to bad on the trail, though when I hit road I removed my muddy sandals and ran barefoot the rest of the way to my car. All in all a fun, dirty day!

Things come around!

When fall comes around I look forward to cooler temps! It's been a long summer of running and traveling. Early summer I hit Zion,Yosemite/Tahoe, later Ashland Or/Portland area, and finally central coast of California. What a summer! Now running in familiar ground and only have run in shoes a couple times.

Up in Tahoe, lost trail above tree line.

Some days are just awesome!

perfect day
Every run is a search for the perfect day. Like a surfer hoping for the perfect wave, I am trying to achieve the best run possible. Today was one of those days. Running in my homemade sandals felt just right, the trail felt great under my feet, dirt on my toes it all came together. My daily jaunts in the Palos Verdes Peninsula are always enriching to my soul and body, but this was just flow. Running strong, dirty, and tired at the end of the run I loved it!
